If you are trying to find a replacement handle or part for a special piece of furniture Whitechapel Ltd. may be able to help.
If your furniture is a genuine antique from the 18th or 19th centuries there is a possibility we can supply the item from stock and a greater chance we may be able to order it for you from one of our specialist suppliers. We suggest you email a good photograph of the part with its size and we will do what we can.
If your furniture is a 20th century brand name reproduction we probably won’t be able to help. As fine as some of these pieces are the hardware was often made of lesser quality material and prone to breakage. None of our hardware will match the often exaggerated styles or finishes common to later reproduction. If the manufacturer can’t supply a replacement your best chance is to find a willing metalworker to repair the part.
In the event that no replacement can be found and your part is either not repairable or missing entirely it is possible to have a new part made using another as a pattern. This can be very expensive so bare in mind that it may be more economical to replace the entire set.
