Ring handles appeared as one of the earliest form of handle. Certainly as soon as iron could be forged handles of this basic form were produced. The simplicity and fundamental rightness of the form has meant continued popularity through all furniture styles up to present times. Some of our Hepplewhite ring handles are set on heavy forged brass backplates while others are on pressed brass backplates as typical of the period.

Our Hepplewhite ring handles, like the originals, are mounted with a single post bolt and escutcheon pins. The bolt is at the top of the handle and serves as the clasp for the ring.
